Combat sports events hosted by Mr. Polatidis sell thousands of tickets per event. The requirement was unambiguous: no double-scans, no counterfeit entry, and live visibility for management — enforced at the database level, not just the application layer.
Tecfinity built TicketCore: a three-application platform with a core validation API, a web dashboard for event management, and a mobile scanner app for door staff. Ticket validation is designed so that double-scanning is physically impossible by the time the system responds.
Three purpose-built applications sharing one database — each designed for a distinct operating role.
A highly available, clustered API with secure authentication, request validation, built-in documentation, and live analytics — every significant design decision formally recorded.
A web-based dashboard for event staff to create events, manage ticket batches, monitor scan activity in real time, and revoke scanner devices instantly.
A purpose-built mobile app for door staff with instant barcode reading — optimised for speed and reliability under pressure in high-footfall environments.
Ticket validation executes as a single, unbreakable operation — check, mark, and confirm with no gap for a second scan to slip through. Double-scanning is impossible at the data layer.
Once a ticket is scanned, its state cannot be reversed — by design. There is no bypass, no replay, no override. The rules are enforced at the database level.
Real-time scan counts, gate throughput, and anomaly alerts keep management informed throughout the event. Any scanner can be deauthorised from the dashboard instantly.
Every component exists to serve one goal: valid tickets in, invalid tickets out, zero exceptions. Nine formal decision records document every significant architectural choice — the system is built to be understood, audited, and extended.
